SENSORY: Life on the Spectrum

I made a comic for SENSORY: Life on the Spectrum, which was organised & edited by my friend Bex aka Schnumn, which consists of stories written &/or illustrated by 40+ autistic creators, including yours truly!

It has been officially published under Andrews McMeel & has won a Broken Frontier award & was even nominated for a Ringo!

My comic (titled: Accepting My Autism) details how being autistic could often negatively impact me, put me down and often make me wish I didn't have to deal with it, mainly because I didn't understand it, whilst trying to be accepting of my condition, a struggle I've always had despite being diagnosed as a toddler and it also acknowledges you live with autism your entire life into adulthood.

This is my first ever public collaboration project and I'm excited & thrilled that I took part in this project, as it not only allowed me to disclose my expressive storytelling to a lot of people, but I've met so many amazing autistic creators and have been wowed by their stories, which have inspired me greatly and on top of all that, it has made me more understanding and accepting of my condition and has inspired to more comics in the future about mental health (especially autism), improve as an artist and eventually stream. I was dealing with the aftermath of a breakup a couple of months beforehand, as well, so this was pretty much the gateway to where I am now!

I really hope this anthology will inspire many other people like us! If you want to buy it, you'll most likely find it at pretty much any bookstore near you or anywhere online that sells books.
